Our Ohana

In Hawai‘i, ohana means family. But it also means the people you choose to pull up a chair for—the ones who show up when the grill is lit and the table is full.

Our story began in the islands in the 1940s, when our grandparents were married in Honolulu. They fell in love with the Hawaiian way of living: open doors, long conversations, and meals that stretched late into the evening. Those gatherings weren’t just dinner. They were the center of everything—talking story, sharing plates, and making sure no one left the table hungry or alone.

In 1974, the original Legend Blend was created in our own kitchen. It wasn’t made for a store shelf. It was made for backyard cookouts and the nights when friends became family. From the beginning we carefully blended high-quality spices chosen for pure flavor, rich color, and lasting aroma—seasonings that enhance the food without covering it up.

Today the third generation carries that tradition forward from the Big Island of Hawai‘i. We still blend each mix with the same care, creating everyday essentials that help other families do what we’ve always loved most: gather, cook, and share a meal that brings everyone closer.

That’s what Ohana Spice is about. Not just seasoning the food. Seasoning the moments that turn an ordinary night into a family gathering.
